Welcome and thank you for supporting Arts Education in Arizona.
AAAE is a statewide network of organizations, school districts and arts education professionals. Please use this website to learn more about our mission, our programs and to join in our efforts to promote and build arts education through out Arizona.
We are proud to be a part of a national network of arts advocacy organizations linked through the John F. Kennedy Center Alliance for Arts Education.
Approximately thirty years ago Congress mandated that the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts provide cutting edge arts education at a local level across the United States. The U.S. Department of Education gave the Kennedy Center funds to acheive this goal and the Kennedy Center Alliance for Arts Education Network was formed.
There are currently 46 state alliances that make up the network. The Arizona Alliance for Arts Education was formed in 1974.
Student Essay Contest Awards: A statewide contest which posed a theme about the importance of the arts for a student. Students from three grade level categories submitted in 2009. Nine awards were given at local school board meetings, with winners, winners’ families, winners’ fine arts teachers, winners’ principals, winners’ fine arts coordinators, and the three category winners read their essays at the Annual Arts Congress event, an advocacy opportunity to meet your legislator and ask for their continuous support for the arts.
